Main and distribution electrical panel assembly

The panel is the only place where you can protect the whole apartment from voltage surges, earth leakage and fire. We build panels to a load calculation, using ABB, Schneider Electric or Hager components, with a voltage monitoring relay, an RCD on every wet-area circuit group, a signed diagram inside and every line labelled.

Why an apartment in Batumi needs a proper panel

In most new buildings in Adjara the developer installs a 4–6 module box: a main breaker and a couple of circuits. That is enough to get the building signed off, but not to live in: air conditioners, water heater, induction hob, oven, washing machine and dishwasher each need their own line and their own protection. Add the unstable Energo-Pro grid with phase imbalance and surges up to 260–280 V, and it becomes clear why we fit a voltage monitoring relay in every panel, without exception.

A panel built properly does four jobs: it protects people from electric shock (RCDs/RCBOs), protects the wiring from overload and short circuit (breakers rated to the cable size), protects appliances from voltage surges (voltage relay, plus a stabiliser where needed) and lets you service the apartment without cutting power to all of it (one line — one breaker, everything labelled).

Which panels we build

  • Apartment distribution panel — single-phase, 8–24 circuits, flush or surface-mounted.
  • Main panel for a house — three-phase, with metering, main breaker, SPD (lightning surge protection), phase balancing, outgoing lines to outbuildings and outdoor lighting.
  • Panel with backup power — an ATS for a generator or UPS: when the power goes out, the boiler, fridge, router and lights keep working. In Batumi, where planned and emergency outages are routine, this is the most common request.
  • Panels for aparthotels and commercial sites — floor and per-unit panels with separate metering for each room, control panels for ventilation and pumps.
  • DC panels for solar PV systems — DC protection, isolators, SPDs, inverter connection.

What we build with

Modular protective devices from ABB, Schneider Electric, Hager; DigiTOP / Zubr / RBUZ voltage relays; ABB Mistral, Hager Volta, Schneider Pragma enclosures. Wago terminals, N/PE bars, busbar combs, labels printed on a thermal printer.

Scope of work

What panel assembly includes

Panel design

We list the loads, calculate currents, select cable sizes and breaker ratings, and draw a single-line diagram. We agree it with you before buying components.

Components

We buy the enclosure and protective devices from official distributors in Georgia, with the manufacturer's warranty. Counterfeits on the Energo-Pro grid don't last a year.

Assembly

Mounting on DIN rail, wiring with flexible PuGV wire and insulated ferrules, busbar combs, N and PE bars, terminals tightened to the torque in the device datasheet.

Connection and setup

Connecting the incoming cable and circuit lines, checking phase sequence, testing RCDs with the test button and an instrument, setting the voltage relay thresholds (usually 170–250 V).

Documentation

A single-line diagram in the door pocket, labelled breakers, a "breaker → room → line" table, and a test report for insulation resistance and phase-neutral loop impedance.

Power upgrade

If the allocated kilowatts aren't enough, we prepare an application to Energo-Pro / Telasi for increased capacity or a three-phase supply and see it through to connection.

Prices

Electrical panel assembly prices

Package prices include labour and ABB/Schneider components. The exact configuration depends on the number of lines — we price it from your electrical plan within a day. Per-module rates are for upgrading existing panels.

How the work goes

How we build a panel

  1. 01List of loads

You send us the apartment plan or a list of appliances — or we come and calculate on site. For an existing panel we carry out an audit with photos.

  2. 02Diagram and estimate

Within 1 day — a single-line diagram, a specification with brands and the price. We explain why each component is there.

  3. 03Workshop assembly

We assemble the panel in our workshop: neat wiring looms, labelling, continuity checks. On site all that's left is to mount and connect it.

  4. 04On-site installation

Mounting the enclosure, connecting the incoming supply and circuits, testing RCDs, setting the voltage relay. 2–4 hours for an apartment.

  5. 05Testing and documents

Insulation resistance and phase-neutral loop test report, diagram in the panel, photos. 5-year warranty.

Typical solutions

Sample panel configurations for Batumi

60 m² apartment, single phase, 7 kW

Main breaker 32 A → voltage relay 40 A → RCD 40 A/30 mA (kitchen, bathroom) and RCD 40 A/30 mA (rooms, air conditioners) → 12 breakers: hob 25 A, oven 16 A, water heater 16 A, washing machine 16 A, dishwasher 16 A, two air conditioners at 16 A each, kitchen sockets 16 A, room sockets 16 A ×2, lighting 10 A ×2. 24-module enclosure, 5 modules spare.

200 m² house, three phases, 15 kW, generator

Main breaker 3P 25 A → Type II SPD → phase monitoring relay → ATS for an 8 kW generator → balanced distribution across phases: phase A — kitchen and water heater, phase B — air conditioners, phase C — heat pump; RCD 63 A/30 mA on each phase, a separate 10 mA RCD for the bathroom; 30 breakers; lines to the garage, pump room and outdoor lighting via separate RCBOs. 72-module enclosure.

Why a voltage relay

A typical complaint in Batumi: "the air conditioner / fridge burned out after a power cut". When power comes back, the grid can spike to 270–300 V for a fraction of a second. A voltage relay, fitted for 30–55 GEL in labour, disconnects the apartment whenever voltage leaves the 170–250 V range and switches it back on after a delay — appliances worth thousands of GEL stay intact.

FAQ

FAQ — Electrical panel assembly

How many kilowatts does an apartment in Batumi get, and is it enough?

New developments usually allocate 5–7 kW on a single-phase supply; older buildings get 3–5 kW. For an apartment with an induction hob, a water heater and two air conditioners that is barely enough. We calculate the real load and, if it falls short, help you apply to Energo-Pro for increased capacity.

Can I keep the developer's panel and just add breakers?

If the enclosure allows it — yes, we upgrade it module by module. But more often a 6-module box has no room for either an RCD or a voltage relay, and fitting a new 24-module enclosure costs less than redoing the work twice.

Do I need an RCD on every line?

No. A group RCD for the wet areas and a separate one for the rooms is enough, plus RCBOs on outdoor lines and the children's room. That is cheaper and makes faults easier to trace.

ABB or Schneider — which is better?

Both are a reliable choice, and both are sold officially in Georgia. ABB is more often in stock in Batumi, Schneider is slightly more expensive on enclosures. The key is not to buy "ABB" at the bazaar: counterfeits routinely fail to hold their rating.

Will you build a panel to my diagram?

Yes, if the diagram is sound. We check it against cable sizes and loads, point out any errors and build to the agreed version.

What should I do about power outages?

For an apartment — a UPS for the boiler, router and lighting (2–4 hours of backup). For a house — a generator with an ATS unit: it starts automatically when the grid goes down and shuts down automatically when power returns. We build the panel for this from the start, even if you buy the generator later.

Do you give a warranty on components?

5 years on the work. Protective devices carry the manufacturer's warranty through the official distributor (usually 2–3 years), and we help with replacement.
